As we announced previously, our second manufacturing facility in Kansas City, Missouri has been up and running since mid-2022. But it took some time to get the new factory fully staffed and to get all necessary equipment in place.
Today, we are happy to share that the 55,000 square foot facility is fully operational and allowing us to meet increasingly fast production schedules, as healthcare construction remains strong throughout most of the country. The new location is focused on manufacturing our custom hospital operating room ceiling systems, and will also be home to our new Innovation Lab, which will allow us to increase our research and development activity, as well as to perform more in-house product testing.
We continue to see increased demand for our ceiling systems, including the SS-CARES (Stainless Steel Clean Air Room Equipment System) and the SSORS (Stainless Steel Operating Room System). So, having a facility dedicated to their production gives us the additional capacity we needed to meet the production schedules of our customers.
Our pre-engineered, modular ceiling system designs offer many advantages over the traditional design/spec/build process, especially in speeding the construction process. All components are prefabricated in our quality-controlled environment for consistent results every time – then shipped to the jobsite for quick and easy field assembly.
We take single-source responsibility for the project, from design – including structural engineering calculations and drawings when applicable – to final installation/construction. We can also coordinate with any medical device manufacturers, as well as all necessary trades on site (electrical, medical gas, fire protection and others).
Considering this simplified, streamlined process, plus our vast experience and strong reputation in providing high-quality critical environment air distribution products, it’s no wonder that our ceiling system business continues to grow.
Fortunately, we now have the increased capacity to meet this growing demand, thanks to our new facility. As we gain more experience building these systems, and continually improve our own production processes, we expect to shorten our lead times even further, allowing us to serve the needs of more hospitals and surgery centers across the U.S. and beyond.
