SS-CARES ceiling system we recently completed for a new operating room at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

We’re very proud of this SS-CARES ceiling system we recently completed for a new operating room at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. In collaboration with two renowned medical schools, Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is consistently recognized as a leader in medical education, groundbreaking research, and innovative, patient-centered clinical care.

Custom built for the hospital’s unique space, this ceiling system is 13′ x 16′, features both green and white surgical-grade LED lighting, and is built with the structural support for a variety of Hillrom medical equipment. As with all of our ceiling systems, it was delivered in sections for easy shipping and transport through the hospital, then easily assembled on site to speed the construction process.

The SS-CARES modular, pre-engineered design can deliver a functioning operating room significantly faster than the traditional “stick built” process. Plus, because all components are prefabricated in our state-of-the-art factory under very controlled conditions, quality is better and more consistent than relying on a number of different, and often unsupervised, contractors on the job site.

With an AJ Manufacturing ceiling system, we handle everything from design – including structural engineering calculations and drawings – to final construction, which can include on-site supervision, consulting with medical device manufacturers, and coordination with all necessary trades (electrical, fire protection, medical gas and others).
