Our 48” x 24” model cleans air effectively and quickly.Quiet
This product boasts significantly low dBa at both 450 CFM and 1100 CFM levels.
Energy Efficiency and AJ Manufacturing’s Commercial HVAC Clean Room Solutions
There is one additional feature on this product, however, that affects commercial business’ bottom line significantly: energy efficiency. Energy efficiency also provides opportunities for tax incentives when a company demonstrates energy-use reduction or when upgrading to an energy-efficient commercial HVAC system. The choice of sustainability also has a public relations benefit, as energy efficiency and sustainability are valued in our collective social conscience.
The Criti-Clean™ ULTRA air distribution system’s energy footprint is small, having been redesigned to utilize 42 watts of power during 450 CFM coverage in a critical environment at a velocity of 90 feet per minute.
As partners in helping our clients achieve their purposes and goals, we recognize how commercial HVAC system innovations can play a role in supporting the success of the businesses we serve. Whether we’re developing new technology to protect air distribution systems from cyber attack through forward-thinking, tech-driven critical environment solutions, or reimagining our manufacturing process for quicker turnaround times for our customers, our “critical thinking for your critical environment” motto has held fast throughout our nearly 50-year career in HVAC manufacturing.
To further educate our client base, we can offer practical recommendations for generating energy efficiency in commercial HVAC products, outside of the creation of our newest energy-efficient diffuser, the Criti-Clean™ ULTRA.
Energy Conservation Measures from ASHE
AJ Manufacturing recently attended the 2022 Annual ASHE (American Society for Healthcare Engineering) conference in Boston to share our recent critical solution for air distribution units in the healthcare industry.
ASHE, which gives annual awards to healthcare facilities for sustainable practices in the industry through a commitment to reducing and maintaining the carbon emission levels, also hosts a website with a dearth of resources related to sustainability.
While their recommendations are focused on their healthcare facility audience, their strategies and ECMs (Energy Conservation Measures) are useful for a wider range of industries.
ASHE Recommends Establishing a Baseline for Energy Consumption, Including Commercial HVAC
Practical and unbiased, one of the first recommendations that ASHE recommends is to establish a baseline for energy consumption. ASHE recommends at least 12 months (36 months is ideal) of data drawn from utility bills to establish current data about how systems such as commercial HVAC are using power.
Using ENERGY STAR’s Portfolio Manager, a business can compare its energy usage to buildings of similar size, and begin to create target goals month to month; if certain benchmarks are met in comparison to these other buildings, the business can then receive ENERGY STAR certification for leading the way in energy-use practices.
It is also important to consider key metrics that buildings like yours may share, however. For example, if you are a healthcare facility that requires specific types of air distribution system tools such as clean rooms for your critical environment solutions, you want to compare your data against buildings with similar facilities.
PG&E Also Offers Recommendations for Commercial HVAC Energy-Efficiency
Portland Gas and Electric, which has made a significant, measurable commitment to energy-efficiency among its large and small business customers, offers grants for sustainability practices developed by facilities that partner with PG&E.
One of their key claims is that commercial HVAC upgrades or replacement can improve energy efficiency by 5 to 20 percent, which would yield significant savings for any facility. Businesses, therefore, could benefit when choosing AJ Manufacturing’s air distribution system products (such as the Criti-Care™ ULTRA Fan Filter Units for critical environment solutions) in research labs and healthcare facilities.
AJ Manufacturing: At the Forefront of “Critical Thinking for Your Critical Environment”
Incentives for energy efficiency are far-reaching, from a business’s fiscal concerns to community perception regarding a facility’s commitment to human and environmental health.
While 50 years ago we may not have been able to predict the modern solutions we’re generating today for your business’s commercial HVAC needs, our ethos of high standards, critical thinking, and innovation have centered us in important conversations that span far beyond HVAC engineering.
