SANIT-AIR-PAS is a portable device the re-circulates the air in a room, up to 12 air changes per hour, through it’s HEPA or ULPA filter and Steril-Aire UVC emitters.

The purpose of the SANIT-AIR-PAS is to “scrub” the air in a room of airborne pathogens either introduced via the current supply air system or via subjects in the room.

First the air passes through a pre-filter. The purpose of the pre-filter is to capture large airborne particles in it’s media, which will keep the HEPA/ULPA filters more efficient.

Next, the air passes through a highly reflective chamber containing (2) Steril-Aire UVC emitters. UVC energy is the germicidal wavelength in the ultra violet spectrum. The emitters release high-ouput UVC energy that penetrates even the tiniest microorganism to destroy its DNA and RNA, killing or deactivating it. UVC can prevent the spread of swine flu to family members, co-workers, patients and customers. UVC destroys viruses, including the H1N1 virus. Other examples of diseases it can kill: Swine flu, avian flu, bird flu, Asian flu, Influenza A, Hong Kong flu, Spanish flu, Measles, Tuberculosis, Legionella, Pneumonia and Whooping cough. The UVC emitters are used because most viruses are tiny microorganisms that can be as small as .02 microns, too small for even an ULPA filter to capture.

The air then passes through a HEPA or ULPA filter with aluminum separators protecting the filter media from degradation due to the UVC and for maximum reflectivity, enhancing the UVC. The HEPA is 99.997% efficient in capturing pathogens down to .3 microns in size. IF an ULPA filter is used, it is 99.99997% efficient in capturing pathogens down to .1 microns in size.

The SANIT-AIR-PAS was tested in a hospital environment and was able to lower the clean room standard by 3 levels. SANIT-AIR-PAS meets the electrical leakage requirements of invasive hospital areas. But it is certainly not limited to hospital use, below are some applications typical for SANIT-AIR-PAS use:

Doctor’s office/emergency room waiting rooms, protecting patients from other patients illnesses
Cramped office spaces where workers are in close contact, to protect spread of illness

Office areas where construction is under way to protect workers still in the area from mold and other allergens.

The applications are endless. Even if you have a filtered system, you still can’t control what is lurking in the ductwork. And you definitely can’t control what people bring into the area with them. SANIT-AIR-PAS provides a defense against airborne pathogens and because it is mobile, it can be moved to the area of highest priority. SANIT-AIR-PAS tracks it’s own maintenance schedule and will notify the user when the filter need to be changed and how much life is left in the UVC emitters.
